International Summer School – June 12nd – 25th, 2022

FOOD, LANDSCAPES AND ECOSYSTEMS TO DESIGN SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Innovations, societal transformations and regenerative communities

The international Summer School F_LAND, in compliance with the EU Green Deal and Farm-to-Fork strategies, aims at teaching how to apply a fully integrated and multi-disciplinary approach in landscape planning and design to valorize local territories.

The aim of the course is to train students on the analysis, design and management proposal for the safeguard and enhancement of inner areas and their agri-food and forest productions. In view of the ongoing and foreseeable environment transformations, the students will be given the opportunity to acquire operational skills in infrastructural, environmental, and landscape planning and, more specifically, in agroforestry landscape; the students will also benefit from the most valuable international expertise in this field.

The programme, based on theoretical and practical activities, lectures, seminars, field visits and workgroups, will provide to the participants an innovating, interdisciplinary working methodology, both large-scale environmental and socio-economic issues.

To train participants to plan useful projects aimed at coping with rural and peri-urban transformational challenges, four teaching subject units are proposed and reported in the provisional program table. Each subject includes several topics and will be developed through different learning approaches which encourage the interaction among participants. Lectures and other activities will be carried out by professors and researchers from Italian and international Universities and Research center, as reported in the detailed program table.

F_LAND is proposed by University of Tuscia in cooperation with China Jiliang University, Universidad Nacional de Chilecito, Akdeniz University, University of Exeter, Wageningen University, University of Valladolid, University of Florence and with the support of CREA Research Centre for Forestry and Wood.

The registration procedure for the selection will start on February, 20th, 2022 and will end on March, 30th, 2022.
